| Article published on (02/10/17) paper Rising_Kashmir entitled as #BRAID_CHOPPING Heart-wrenching reality. Well very sad side of the Reality!!!.... It is quite regrettable that the braids of women are being chopped off by some unknown goons across the Jammu and Kashmir.So far dozens of braid chopping cases have been witnessed in Kashmir and seems no end to this unfortunate practice.Government authorities haven't taken this grave issue seriously rather are busy in usual way of negligence.We implore the Government authorities and the police to nab the culprit as soon as possible. .Helpline numbers must be set up for every district in Kashmir. Men and the youth must keep vigil in their respective localities,be aware of any movement of strangers,beggars,labours, Women should not to leave their houses without being accompanied.Women must also carry some safety tools like pocket knife so that they too can defend if any such thing happens.Every household should try to install a good number of lights in its surroundings so that moment of people can be captured properly.. | Write up entitled as '#Braid_Chopping' publised on #Rising_Kashmir 10-10-2017 of mine. .. This is in reference to the growing braid chopping incidents in Kashmir.This criminal activity has had a psychological impacts on the women as they have been terrorised by such incidents.Women can't leave their houses,students can't go outside or even to schools and colleges.Parents are in constant fear for their children who are panicked.Women are not safe in their own state,not even in their own houses despite the fact that Kashmir is one of the largest militarised states.Security forces have totally failed in providing security to men and women i the state which is highly condemnable.People have lost their hopes on an institution like police.Locals have formed committees to keep a vigil.Due to the mysterious braid chopping incidents many innocent people have been labeled as 'braid choppers' and some have been ruthlessly beaten up by angry mobs.This is all because of the disturbance created by these incidents.Government should roll out some precautionary steps or guidelines for the safety of the people.Strangers / non-locals should not be present on roads ,shops,etc during night and in the morning.If someone is found violating these guidelines should be penalized.People ought to carry their identity cards whenever they leave their localities so that they don't become suspects.If any suspected person is caught by the people,he/she should not be harmed or punished rather handed over to locality president(like sarpanch,panch,Imam of Masjid,etc) for questioning presence of police and public.Beggars shouldn't be given a free hand to go where ever thy want.They too need to be restricted at this hour of grief. Article of mine regarding Brick Kilns printed on (12-02-2016) newspaper Rising Kashmir
Brick Kilns
It is disheartening to know that
numerous brick kilns
are being set up in different. areas of district Budgam, especially in Chadoora, in an
unplanned manner.The guidelines framed by the PCB (Pollution Control
Board) J&K, are mostly ignored by government as well as the public.
According to PCB J&K, no new brick kiln will be permitted to be set up in any land designated
for agriculture, forest or
orchard. No brick kiln will be allowed to come up within a distance of 1km from hospitals, schools,
public buildings, religious
places. A multilayer green belt of 10m width is to be constructed along the periphery of the
brick kilns. Scientific technique to treat
smoke from chimneys must
be employed before letting it to escape into the atmosphere. A good height of
chimney from earth's surface should be structured. But what we see is totally opposite
of the guidelines. Instead of constructing green belt, agricultural land is
being destroyed and turned unproductive. A significant number of newly constructured
kilns has not even 0.5 km distance from densely populated habitations, which is
very serious and lethal to the people residing there. Height of chimneys is
shorter than the set height. Hardly anywhere is smoke treated before letting it
out. We can’t blame the kiln owners entirely as they don’t have the knowledge
and they are not forced by the government to follow guidelines. It is all because
of the authorities who have failed to implement the laws for protecting environment. Large
proportion of land here is kareva land which is suitable for cultivation of saffron.
Saffron cultivation should be introduced as an alternative to construction of
brick kilns on such lands.

| My article printed on (15/06/16) Rising Kashmir entitled as "Canine Problem". ::: The dog menace has intensified in Srinagar city and one jus wonders if SMC is listening pr paying any heed to the distress calls of the people. Canine population in the city has grown manifolds posing a threat to people. The increase in population has also become a challenge to SMC that is failing to control the problem. The growth in dog population is also due to availability of easy food to them that lies in the uncollected garbage and waste in the city. Dog bite cases are also increasing proportionally to the increasing dog population. What is disgusting is impounding of dogs and releasing them in villages. This has spread the problem to other districts as people living in villages and towns are now vulnerable to attacks. | An issue has been highlighted by #Greater_Kashmir newspaper on (02-07-2018)with the title #Chadoora_lacks_basic_faci It is quite unfortunate that the Chadoora town in Budgam district lacks the basic facilities like toilets, dustbins, traffic signals, etc. Due to no dustbins present in the area and no dumping site the garbage is dumped on the banks of river Doodhganga and along the roadside which leads to entire town getting littered. Even after the repeated applications and requests higher officials seems to be in deep slumber. On the other hand people get caught in traffic snarls. No traffic signals and absence of traffic policemen adds to the confusion. We request the concerned authorities to provide this town with basic facilities at the earliest. Rameez Ahmad Dar |

| My article published on todays (24/11/16) Newspaper #Rising_Kashmir entitled as #Demonetization ... This is in reference to the remark by Indian Defence Minister Manohar Paraikar that "Demonetisation ended stone pelting in Kashmir" at a time when it may prove costly to the government to bring back normalcy. It was shocking to read the statement of the defence minister that completely ignores the sentiments of Kashmiris who have been suffering from mass arrests, pellet injuries and civilian killings. The defence minister seems to be ignorant who does not know anything about Kashmir. His statement makes him look like he is against the peace and normalcy in the region. He should have appreciated and thanked people for staying away from protests. Instead the defence minister is fueling the fire. We condemn such statements and hope that there is no place for hostility and hatred. Rameez Ahmad Dar |

| A short writeup on #Rising_Kashmir Title:-#Education Published on June 20, 2018 This is in reference to the education scenario of Kashmir which has got tangled in the worst repercussions of decades old conflict. The standard of education has toggled and gone down to a regrettable state, which might lead the state to ruin the students, teachers and researchers. Students are baffled by the vision-less policy of the government. Students are known to be the buildings blocks of society and nation. Unfortunately the future of Kashmir seems to be derailed from a healthy state to a decrepit one. Only a handful of students manage to get quality education, the rest have to be content with whatever is offered in the state. Accountability of teachers is rarely asked for. We request the concerned authorities to pay heed about the quality and quantity of education to students. Teachers being the stakeholders to whom parents entrust with their children’s future, they should work hard to reorient the aimless and disturbed students and restore in them necessary confidence. This is in reference to the notice of Department of Food,Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology,wherein the wedding extravaganza is banned accompanied with the restrictions on the use of non-biodegradable material like polythene, which is a remarkable step by authorities.People always reckon such efforts of govt which safeguard the rights of one and all,the forethought to keep the environment 'Clean and Green'.The number of guests has been confined to maximum of 500per wedding and 100 for engagement ceremonies,further the number of veg/non-veg to be served,and the last but not least,ban on plastics which mostly rules the marriage ceremonies and gatherings.I consider it to be promoting good value which would definitely bear fruits to the society here and hereafter.What is of the utmost importance is the proper implementation of the rules.we urge the authorities to come harder and knockout the elements which have put additional burden on the society.I also request the authorities to ensure the mass participation of locals without whom it can really be a flop show. It is
very unfortunate that the date sheet for Home Science stream is yet to be
framed while the date sheet for all other branches like Arts, Science,
Commerce, etc has already been announced and students are preparing for their
exams .On behalf of all Home Science students, I request the Kashmir University
officials, dealing with examination system not to put our carriers at stake and
announce the datesheet of examinations as soon as possible.

| An issue cum article of mine published on(24-07-2017) newspaper #Greater_Kashmir entitles as Nowbugh faces water shortage I feel very sad that our repeated requests are not taken seriously. I ,on behalf of Nowbugh residents which falls in Chadura Tehsil again want to convey to the PHE department that we are suffering due to acute water shortage as the water reservoir tank is full of mud and waste. We had got a spring in our area and was more than enough to fulfill the needs of all the villagers. But due to some reasons ,the water level has dropped. So from the core of my heart ,on behalf of inhabitants,I request the authorities to look into the matter and arrange an alternative water supply to the Nowbugh Village as soon as possible. | An article published on todays (08/04/2016)Rising Kashmir Newspaper entitled as "ON CORRUPTION" Corruption has deepened its roots so much in our society that it is now impossible to strive for excellence. The state tops the list of corrupt states in India. Government, semi-government as well as in private sector no stone is left unturned to make the state most corrupt. With the corruption sustaining no improvement can take place and there will be no development. Most of the investment is turned useless as it is illegally nabbed. Everyone is hoping against hope for a corruption free state. Well it will be a utopian idea to free the state of corruption as even worlds top corruption free country Denmark scores only 92 out of 100. Corruption needs to be uprooted and shown backdoor else it will be development that will escape from it. School can be a good place to begin the war against corruption. Students are valuable assets of society and hence can bring a revolution. Today's youth can come real handy in controlling corruption, the youth who sooner or later will hold key positions in government, semi-government and private sectors. They need counseling. Once they are motivated they will inspire future generations. Government also must come clear on their decisions, laws, and acts. If someone is found guilty or corrupt he/she should be punished. as CORRUPTION
This refers to the growing corruption in the world.
Every part of globe is facing the problem of corruption, be it Denmark which is
world’s number one corruption-free state with a score of 92 or Somalia which is
world’s most corrupt country scoring just 8 according to CPI (corruption
perception index), 2014. India is shown to score 38 points, which is not good
for Indian economy. Among the states, it is Jammu and Kashmir which is in the
top list with unrestrained corruption. Growing corruption closes doors of
development and weakens economy. Corruption also leads to poverty,
unemployment, and delay in works. The question arises why J&K is most
corrupt state in India? What seems plausible is that departments like revenue
department, education department, R&B department, Police, Social welfare
offices that dealing with social schemes have not shown accountability as there
are no checks and inspections. If there is a CCTV for every ATM why can’t there
be CCTVs in government departments and offices? The chain of corruption needs
to break. People should raise their voices against corruption which has
paralyzed the state. Easy communication channels should be thrown open to
public so that they can report cases of corruption. Grievances and complaints
by public on corruption should receive an answer within 10-15 days.
Government should give exemplary punishments to a person indulged in
corruption.

| An article of mine printed on(18/04/ and brotherhood" It is highly unfortunate that Kashmiri students are being mistreated in the country and also in our own state, J&K, by fellow students. A college in Jammu has been in news for last few days for attacks on Kashmiri students. We are waiting to see whether Central government will intervene to safeguard Kashmiri students or not; like they did for non-Kashmiri students in NIT. Also if the feelings of difference and hatred are fostered in the student community it is going to be very difficult to maintain unity in a country that has diverse ethnic composition, people practicing different faith, etc. The state and central government must block all those channels which add fuel to fire and create animosity. Education institutions should spread the message of peace, brotherhood, humanity and unity instead of serving the petty interests of politicians. Rameez Ahmad |

| My write up published on todays (15/11/2016) Newspaper #Rising_Kashmir entitled as School Burning. ____________School burning__________ It is extremely unfortunate that schools and colleges are being torched by some goons in Kashmir. It is extremely painful to see the institutions that teach us human values be torched. There have been many incidents which have set the alarm bells ringing. It is against the welfare of society. Political parties and separatists are blaming each other, but the culprits are still at large. It is matter of concern for people, educated or uneducated. Blaming one another is not the way as we won’t gain anything. People should unite to protect these sacred places and keep them away from the reach of goons. A look at the present scenario, the government and police seem to have lost their efficiency who couldn't catch the offenders from last three months. | My article published on (21/04/2016) newspaper Rising Kashmir entitled as "SCHOOL TRANSPORT" [No one can compromise when it comes to provide #safety and #comfort to school going children] . For how long will school buses and vans violate traffic rules? It has become a norm in Chadura, Budgam. Being a parent I feel secure as school transportation is the best option for parents. There is no issue with the children reaching late or absconding as there is staff in the buses that take care of the children. The only problem is when school administrations and bus and van drivers flout traffic rules that are meant for all. The school transport comprises of coloured vehicles with different schools trying to make the vehicles look like the school. It is required for the vehicles to have a golden yellow band according to school transport rules. School buses should have a uniform look with no experiments done on the same. Wearing a uniform by drivers and conductors – light blue shirt, light blue trousers and black shoes, displaying name identity on the shirt are mandatory. On behalf of parents, I request school authorities to implement school transport rules that are meant to ensure safety and security to students. Rameez Ahmad |

| Ma article published on(26/04/16) Rising Kashmir entitled as STUDENTS" SECURITY This refers to the letter of outstation students of NIT Srinagar to HRD minister, Simriti Irani, in which 19 demands were penned down. The demands included shifting of NIT Srinagar, replacement of J&K police by CRPF in the campus, hoisting of tri-color in campus and celebration of national festivals at the institute. Also a 3-hour meeting between non-local students and NIT Director was held. We are confused over the whole issue – how can a flag give anybody a sense of security? It is merely a conspiracy of some unwanted elements who don't want peace and harmony to be there in NIT Srinagar. On behalf of the people I request the HRD ministry to meet only genuine demands of the students, which would cause no harm to anyone. But we also request the Prime Minister, Chief Minister of J&K, Home ministry, HRD Ministry, to safeguard and provide security to Kashmiri students studying in different institutions of India who are harassed on daily basis. If you are there to respond the protest of non-local students at NIT Srinagar, we are certain that that you will come to rescue of Kashmiri students who are mistreated and harassed by their fellow students. | Article published (03/05/16) newspaper Rising_Kashmir entitled as "Student's Security". Kashmiri students studying in various colleges and universities in different states of India have had a sigh of relief as 13 states and union territories have appointed special nodal police officers for their respective regions in the wake of increasing incidents of attacks, misbehavior, discrimination, etc., by fellow students. Remaining states are yet to respond the Home Ministry's request. We are thankful for taking problems of students into account and the positive response. In Budgam district Police has thrown open a 24x7 helpline for the students who are studying outside to register their grievances, complaints and problems. Same should be emulated in other districts of the Valley. It relieves parents whose children are studying outside the state. Rameez Ahmad |

Such schemes are having the positive impact on society.The most important thing now is the counselling of the male populationand make them accept by heart that a girl child is equal to boy. In every sector like commerce administration, politics, education, females are playing a pivotal role.
